Our Commitment to Holistic Herd Management

At our farm, we prioritize the health and well-being of our Nigerian Dwarf goats through holistic herd management practices. We do not routinely vaccinate, administer chemical parasite control, or use antibiotics unless absolutely necessary for the health of a specific animal. Instead, we focus on preventative care, natural remedies, and a balanced diet to maintain a robust and thriving herd.

Our goats are raised in a clean, pasture-based environment that supports their natural immunity and minimizes the need for chemical interventions. This commitment ensures that the milk we provide is as natural and pure as possible, reflecting our dedication to sustainable and responsible farming.

Why our milk is special!

At our Santa Clarita farm, we specialize in raw goat milk sourced exclusively from our Nigerian Dwarf goats, known for producing milk that is naturally higher in fat than other goat breeds, and packed with essential nutrients. Goats' milk is already higher in fat than cows', 6% to cows' 4%. However, Nigerian Dwarf goats can exceed 6% milk fat making their milk the sweetest and richest of all the goat breeds. (In 2025, some of our does topped out at 9% butterfat!)

Beyond producing exceptional milk, our regenerative farm operates on well water and solar power, reducing our environmental impact as we work toward greater self-sufficiency. Just as our goats spend their days basking in the California sunshine on open pasture, our farm is also powered by the sun, harnessing solar energy to keep our operations running as sustainably as possible.

We are committed to minimizing waste and maximizing the resources our farm provides—our goats’ manure is composted and returned to the soil, enriching our gardens with vital nutrients, while their spent hay is repurposed as supplemental feed for our chickens, creating a naturally integrated system where every element has a purpose.

By choosing our raw goat milk, you’re supporting small-scale, ethical farming committed to full-circle sustainability, responsible land stewardship, and regenerative agriculture.

Frequently Asked Questions About Raw Goat Milk

Why is goat milk easier to digest than cow’s milk?

Goat milk has smaller fat globules, a softer protein structure, and less allergenic casein, making it gentler on the stomach. Many people with mild lactose intolerance also find goat milk easier to digest due to its unique composition.

Why is raw milk easier to digest than pasteurized milk?

Raw milk contains natural enzymes like lactase, probiotics, and unaltered proteins that support digestion. Pasteurization removes these benefits, making raw milk a more digestible option for many people.

Does your goat milk taste "goaty"?

Nope! Our milk is super sweet and rich! Some people have an aversion to trying goat milk because the milk at most stores has a strong "goaty" or "gamey" flavor. Goat cheese is often known for strong flavors and the milk sourced for this cheese is specifically for a more pungent flavor.

Who knew that every goat breed has a different flavor to their milk!? Nigerian Dwarf goats are famous for their strong personalities and mild, super sweet milk flavor. Many hobby dairy farms raise Nigerians for this reason.

What makes Nigerian Dwarf goat milk unique?
Nigerian Dwarf goat milk is naturally higher in fat content than cow’s milk, making it creamier and richer. It also has a slightly sweeter taste that is not considered "goaty". Goats' milk is already higher in fat than cows', 6% to cows' 4%. However, Nigerian Dwarf goats can exceed 6% milk fat making their milk the sweetest and richest of all the goat breeds.

Is your milk organic?

No we are unable to offer 100% organic raw milk at this time. It is extremely difficult to source organic hay in our area. We do feed organic grains as much as possible. We source our grains from Modesto Milling, Azure Standard, and our local feed stores.

What do you feed your goats?

Our goats are fed a diet almost exclusively of locally sourced alfalfa hay and grass mixes. Only our goats in milk receive grains and these are as organic and/or non gmo as we can source. Grains are an important part of a dairy goat's diet to help her consume the calories she needs to make delicious milk!

Is your raw milk safe for human consumption?

While we can’t advertise, label or sell our milk "for human consumption" due to California state regulations, we can confidently say that we drink the same milk in our home. Every batch is collected with the utmost care, adhering to strict hygiene and safety standards. Our milk is as fresh and wholesome as it gets!

What steps do you take to ensure milk quality?
We adhere to strict collection protocols, including daily sterilizing all equipment and conducting annual health testing for our dairy goats for CAE, CL, Johnes, Tuberculosis, & Q-Fever. Our goats are free to roam our small ranch ensuring they receive plenty of sunshine, exercise, and fresh air.

Along with strict collection methods, we also chill our milk immediately which is essential to maintaining that sweet, fresh taste and avoiding any "off" flavors.

How long does the milk last?

Up to two weeks if properly stored. Our milk is sold within 2 - 5 days of collection from the goats. The first 24 hours are spent in our super cold dedicated milk refrigerator to ensure the quality and fresh taste are preserved. Ideally, milk is picked up on the second or third day.

In our experience, our fresh raw milk tastes amazing for up to 2 weeks from the date it was collected. After 2 weeks, it may develop a more "goaty" taste and possibly begin to culture (aka turn to cheese!) This process usually takes more like 4-6 weeks and sometimes, we purposefully culture older milk.

Can raw goat's milk be frozen?

Yes, our fresh raw milk can be frozen! We recommend using hard plastic containers and allowing a "head space" for expansion during the freeze. This can be kept for 6-12 months in the freezer. Sometimes, the flavor is "off" after being frozen but if handled, properly, it is still safe to consume once thawed.

Glass containers are more likely to break during expansion and "zipper bags" will almost always get little holes in them resulting in a huge mess during thawing.

Is raw goat milk safe for pets?
Yes, raw goat milk is highly digestible and packed with probiotics, vitamins, and minerals that support healthy digestion and overall wellness in pets. Raw goat milk is often an essential addition to a raw meat pet diet and is widely recognized as a super-food. It is packed full of nutrients, enzymes, and probiotics!
